School Profile
The School of Economics and Management of BUCT originated from the Department of Economic Management established in 1981 and changed its name to the School of Economics and Management in 1994. Relying on the strong academic advantages and resource strength of BUCT, the institute is committed to creating a quality education,and training high-quality comprehensive talents with academic interests and innovative potential. After nearly 40 years of development, the institute currently has Management Science and first-level discipline Engineering doctoral program and post-doctoral mobile station,2 first-level discipline master programs of Management Science and Engineering and Business Administration ,3 professional master programs of Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Engineering Management (MEM) and Master of Professional Accounting(MPAcc), of which Management Science and Engineering is a key subject to be constructed belonging to 211 engineering and 985 innovation platform for preponderant disciplines.There are 7 Bachelor program specialties offered in the institute:Accounting,International Economics and Trade, Financial Management, Information Management and Information Systems, Business Administration, Logistics Management, Data Science and Big Data Technology. Among them, Accounting is the country's first-class undergraduate major,and International Economics and Trade major is the characteristic construction major of Beijing .Besides,there is a provincial and ministerial-level key base,7 school-level institutions and more than 10 institute-level teams for scientific research.
There are 94 staff members working in the institute, of whom 73 are full-time teachers and 39 are full and associate professors. In recent years, it introduced and trained a number of high-level talents:2 in the youth talent program of Central Group Department,1 winner of the National Natural Science Outstanding Youth Fund,2 winners of science fund for outstanding young people,3 finalists of the talent program of the Ministry of Education in the new century,1 winner of100 people projectfor Beijing middle-aged and young social science theoretical talent,1 winner of New Star of Beijing Science and Technology,1 winner of Huo Yingdong Youth Teacher Award ,1 winner of Beijing Talent Award,2 of Beijing University of Science and Technology,3 of Beijing University of Science and Technology outstanding young talents.3 of Beijing Teaching Master Award,7 of Beijing University of Chemical Engineering Teaching Master Award,4 selected in the Beijing University of Chemical Engineering Young Talent 100 People Program. At the same time, Ma Zhengwu and a number of internationally renowned professors and domestic well-known entrepreneurs are engaged as visiting professors or part-time professors. At present, there are more than 1500 undergraduate students and nearly 500 graduate students(including more than 300 master's degrees and more than 90 international students). The employment rate of graduates is stable at more than 98%.
The institute has strong teaching strength With 1 team of Beijing excellent education,1 sharing course of national resource ,2 Beijing high-quality courses.Moreover,it establishes an off-campus practice base with Jiarun accounting firm and other more than 10 off-campus enterprises and establishes the second degree (Business Administration major).And students have repeatedly obtained excellent results in the national Challenge Cup, College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest, Sand Disk Competition and other extracurricular science and technology competitions.In recent years,the institute has undertaken a number of national natural science fund,humanities and social science fund and other scientific research projects,and annually undertakes more than 40 scientific research projects, publishes more than 100 papers, and in recent years publishes nearly 60 monographs/teaching materials.The institute conducts extensive international academic exchanges and cooperation.Teachers with overseas study,visiting background occupy above 80%,carry out 3+1,3+1+1,2+2 and other undergraduate and master's students joint training with a number of internationally renowned universities.
