On November 26th, Durham University Business School visited the School of Economics and Management(SEM). The delegation from Durham University comprised Professor Kostas Nikolopoulos, Associate Dean for International Affairs at Durham University Business School; Professor Sarah Xiao, Head of the Department of Marketing and Management; and Professor Xinming He, International Coordinator at Durham University Business School. Gao Hongxia, Chair of SEM, attended the meeting.

On behalf of SEM, Chair Gao extended a warm welcome to the delegation. She emphasized that internationalized education has always been a core development strategy of SEM, and Durham University Business School’s outstanding reputation and high-quality resources in the field of international business education have provided broad space for cooperation between the two schools.

During the meeting, the two schools conducted in-depth and pragmatic consultations on cooperation details and reached initial cooperation intentions. In her concluding remarks, Chair Gao pointed out that this meeting has built a bridge for precise docking between the two schools, and she looks forward to taking this exchange as a starting point to promote the early implementation and effectiveness of cooperation projects, so as to achieve resource sharing and mutual complementarity of advantages.

In the afternoon, the Durham University delegation conducted a thematic presentation in the Second Teaching Building, providing a comprehensive overview of the university's history, academic strengths, and the business school's talent development framework. This presentation highlighted the Durham University Business School's profound academic heritage in business education, sparking considerable interest among the attending faculty and students.

After the presentation, the Durham University delegation visited BUCT’s smart classrooms, the university library, and key campus areas. The delegation spoke highly of BUCT’s campus environment and culture, with members unanimously expressing that this visit had given them a profound sense of Beijing University of Chemical Technology's academic strength and educational environment.

This visit and exchange by the Durham University delegation has further consolidated the foundation for cooperation and clarified the key directions for subsequent collaboration. Both schools stated that they will take this visit as an opportunity to accelerate the docking and implementation of specific cooperation projects, achieve in-depth cooperation in multiple fields, and jointly contribute to cultivating interdisciplinary talents with a global perspective.
