On 22 December 2025, the 28th and 29th sessions of the Yanhe Forum at Beijing University of Chemical Technology were successfully held. Professor Dong Yizhe from the University of Edinburgh and Professor Xia Senmao from the University of Surrey were invited to attend the forum and deliver presentations. Dean Li Bin of the School of Economics and Management, along with teachers and student representatives from the school, participated in the forum.

In the presentation session, Professor Dong Yizhe shared insights focusing on Writing an article for a good refereed Journal. As an editor of international peer-reviewed journals, Professor Dong integrated his own academic experience with an editor's perspective, analyzed common misunderstandings in academic writing, and proposed corresponding solutions. His sharing provided valuable guidance for the teachers and students present to improve the quality of their academic papers and increase the acceptance rate of their submissions.

Subsequently, Professor Xia Senmao delivered a report on the theme of The UK Science and Technology Innovation System. Drawing on systematic organization of the system's overall framework, Professor Xia conducted an in-depth interpretation of its core components and operational mechanisms from multiple dimensions. Integrating typical case studies, he analyzed the system's distinctive advantages and development experience, providing valuable reference for scientific research innovation and achievement transformation in the relevant disciplinary fields of the school.

In the afternoon, the School of Economics and Management held an academic exchange and interaction session, where Professors Dong Yizhe and Xia Senmao were invited to participate in academic discussions and provide guidance. During the event, representatives of teachers and students from SEM reported on the progress and core difficulties of their recent research projects. In response to each presentation, the two professors, combining their own research areas, offered comments on the research direction, technical route, and exploration of innovation points of the projects, and put forward specific and feasible improvement suggestions, which effectively broadened the research perspectives of the teachers and students.

Dean Li Bin stated that this forum focused on the core needs of teachers and students in the field of economics and management as well as international academic frontiers, providing a new perspective for SEM to empower economic and management research through innovation. The successful holding of this event not only built a high-level bridge for international academic exchanges among teachers and students of the whole school, but also focused on the key areas of disciplinary development, effectively enhancing the school's international vision.
