On May 20, 2026, the 34th and 35th sessions of the Yanhe Economic Management Forum were successfully held at the Arts and Science Building, Changping Campus of Beijing University of Chemical Technology. The forum invited Professor Wim Vanhaverbeke from the University of Antwerp and Professor Yang Yong from Shanghai Second Polytechnic University as keynote speakers, and Associate Professor Xia Senmao from the University of Surrey participated in academic discussions.

Two high-level invited academic lectures were delivered in the morning. The first lecture was given by Professor Wim Vanhaverbeke, themed Digital Technologies, Business Model Innovation & Innovation Ecosystem Management in Institutionalized Industries. Starting from open innovation theory and combining practical cases of institutionalized industries such as digital healthcare, he profoundly analyzed the internal mechanism of how digital technologies empower business model innovation and drive reforms in industrial ecosystem management.

The second lecture titled Multinational Enterprises and Digital Economy was presented by Professor Yang Yong. From the perspective of macroeconomy and globalization, he supplemented the operational logic and development rules of industrial innovation ecosystems amid the digital economy. He vividly illustrated the all-round reshaping effect of digital technologies on traditional business models and multinational operation systems, offering brand-new research perspectives and theoretical support for faculty and students engaged in studies on transnational digital economy and international innovation management.

In the afternoon, a special academic seminar themed Meeting the Editor was held, focusing on research concerns including academic paper writing, publication in high-level journals and research project tackling, building an efficient academic exchange platform. Professor Wim Vanhaverbeke shared insights under the theme How to publish in leading academic journals. During the Q&A session, participants reported the progress, core achievements and difficulties of ongoing research. The three guests offered detailed comments and targeted revision suggestions to help enhance research capabilities.

Centering on trending topics including digital economy, industrial innovation and transnational development, the forum integrated profound theories, industrial insights and practical value. It built an international high-standard academic platform and broadened the academic vision and research mindset of all participants.
