School of Economics and Management, BUCT Convenes AACSB Accreditation Working Meeting

On July 22, 2026, the School of Economics and Management (SEM), Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), held an online working meeting on AACSB International Business Accreditation. The meeting invited Professor Tyler Yu, Dean of the Schoolof Business, Georgia State University Perimeter College and official AACSB accreditation mentor, to attend virtually and offer professional guidance on the school's accreditation efforts. Dean Li Bin, Vice Deans Sun Xiangdong and Chen Na attended the meeting, alongside directors of all departments and centers of SEM.

Dean Li Bin extended sincere gratitude to Dean Tyler Yu for accepting the invitation to act as the school's AACSB accreditation mentor, and fully recognized his professional guidance for the accreditation work. He stressed that advancing the AACSB accreditation process constitutes a key initiative for the school to deepen education and teaching reform, expand international development avenues and strengthen core competitiveness. During the meeting, SEMbriefly presented its disciplinary layout, faculty team, scientific research and innovation achievements, as well as international development initiatives, enabling the accreditation mentor to gain a comprehensive understanding of the SEM’sdevelopment status.

Dean Tyler Yu delivered guidance on core aspects of the accreditation work. He elaborated on the core implementation framework, standardized working methodologies and full-cycle key points of AACSB accreditation, with focused clarification on critical precautions, phased milestones and regular communication mechanisms throughout the accreditation journey. Meanwhile, he put forward two priority development directions: first, establishing a working framework covering the three accreditationsections with refined tasks, standards and implementation schedules for each section; second, developing a school-wide collaborative mechanism to break cross-departmental barriers and ensure efficient and orderly progress of accreditation activities. His sharing provided clear, professional implementation ideas for the school to formulate its accreditation plan and detailed task list.

Li Bin rolled out detailed arrangements and clear requirements for the school-wide AACSB accreditation work. He emphasized that all departments and centers must attach high importance to the initiative, engage proactively and offer full cooperation. All members of the school should pool efforts, integrate accreditation work into daily school administration and operations, and jointly take ownership of this shared mission to deliver tangible progress on all accreditation tasks in a solid and orderly manner.

The convening of this AACSB accreditation working meeting further clarified the school's roadmapfor international development, sorted out ideas and implementation pathways for accreditation, and fostered a school-wide collaborative framework for moving the initiative forward. Going forward, the School of Economics and Management will rigorously benchmark against AACSB international accreditation standards, refine work plans, consolidate work responsibilities and press ahead with implementation in a phased manner. Taking the accreditation process as an opportunity, the school will continue to deepen business education reform and elevate its standard of internationalized education.
