The Forum on Innovative Development of Management Science and Engineering was successfully held at the Conference Center of the Chaoyang Campus of Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) on October 10, 2026. Hosted by the School of Economics and Management, BUCT, the forum welcomed Wen Yonghong, Vice Chairof BUCT, who delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Gao Hongxia, Chairof the School of Economics and Management.

In his address, Wen Yonghong extended a warm welcome to all participating guests. He noted that big data, artificial intelligence and related technologies are reshaping the global industrial landscape at an unprecedented pace. Seizing the historic opportunities brought by AI and consolidating the foundation for original innovation through high-level basic research is an epochal question that must be properly addressed during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. It raises higher requirements for us to advance basic research in management science and engineering and foster deeper integration between management science and industries. Taking this forum as an opportunity, the University will further strengthen in-depth cooperation with experts and scholars, jointly explore new models for the development of the management science and engineering discipline, and cultivate more interdisciplinary innovative talents capable of meeting future development needs.

More than 150 experts and scholars from universities and research institutions in and outside Beijing attended the forum. The event serves as a vital platform for discipline development, academic exchange and talent cultivation in the field of management science and engineering. It also builds consensus on enabling high-quality industrial development through disciplinary strengths, injecting new momentum into the innovative advancement of the Management Science and Engineering discipline at BUCT.
